The Parkrose Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Wilsonville, falling 84-15. While losing is never fun, Parkrose can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Wildcats are ranked 33rd).
Gabi Moultrie was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 4 assists for Wilsonville. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moultrie has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Audrey Counts, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Parkrose dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.5 points per game. As for Wilsonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Parkrose won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st. Hood River Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Wilsonville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Kingsmen at 7:15 p.m.
