Wildelson Thermidor and Ja?mahdi Ward certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Thermidor dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Ward dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thermidor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Thomas, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
East Lee County's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for South Fort Myers, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
East Lee County will be playing in front of their home fans against Bonita Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Bonita Springs is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses. South Fort Myers won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gateway Charter at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Gateway Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully South Fort Myers likes a good challenge.
