Western is 9-1 against Coral Glades since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. Western's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Coral Glades' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Western is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Taravella with a sharp 15-0 victory. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Brayden Rivera made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Western let Katarina Kuma and Gia Solano run wild. Kuma got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Solano got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Kuma has posted since back in March. Kristina Bamsey also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Western always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Coral Glades had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Stoneman Douglas on Monday.
Haleigh Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Briana Escobar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Western is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 16-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Coral Glades, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Western was able to grind out a solid victory over Coral Glades in their previous meeting back in February, winning 4-0. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
