The Corinth Warriors lost against the New Hope Trojans back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Corinth took a hard 62-48 fall against New Hope. While losing is never fun, Corinth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while New Hope is ranked second).
Corinth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cayden Harris, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Preston Crump was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Corinth now has a losing record at 4-5. As for New Hope, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Corinth will be home for the holidays to greet Clarksdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarksdale is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for New Hope, they will head out on the road to face off against West Point at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Point's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
