Rosemount is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Farmington is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Irish will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rosemount 2.2, Farmington 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Farmington's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Rosemount hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Irish never let Shakopee get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Sabers: they've now won six in a row.
Not much got past Jorey Fry, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Shakopee off the board. Fry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kenzi Benson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Anna Price was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Farmington ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Prior Lake 4-3.
Olivia Peterson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits.
At the plate, Farmington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Redman, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
