They weren't the only good server: Santa Fe was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They served one more ace than Buchholz's also-impressive total of ten.
Despite the defeat, Buchholz saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Julia Almond had eight digs, two aces, and one block. Kiana Wilburn was another key player, getting nine digs and four aces.
Santa Fe's record now sits at 3-0. As for Buchholz, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Looking ahead, Santa Fe will challenge Seacrest Country Day at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Buchholz, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Rock at 7:00 p.m. on September 4.
