The Mayfield Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Wickliffe Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mayfield was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Moniteau 5-4.
Kameron Sills spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ella Garrett, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Lilly Pinzone also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Garrett wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Mayfield lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while Wickliffe put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Lutheran West. Wickliffe was the clear victor by a 27-0 margin over Lutheran West.
Leigha Blazetic made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Blazetic was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Wickliffe got a massive performance out of Audrey Musgrave, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Maddie Kita was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Mayfield's record now sits at 2-3. As for Wickliffe, their record now sits at 2-0.
Mayfield might still be hurting after the 19-8 loss they got from Wickliffe when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can Mayfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
