After losing to the Southview Cougars the last time they met, the Bowsher BlueRacers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Bowsher came out on top against Southview by a score of 44-37 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bowsher.
Despite the loss, Southview saw an underclassman step up: Lacie Filas scored ten points along with three steals. Filas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Morgan Rigg, who scored five points along with two steals.
Southview struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
The victory got Bowsher back to even at 8-8. As for Southview, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Bowsher will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Wauseon at 2:30 p.m. Wauseon is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Southview won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Clay at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th. Clay is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Southview a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
