The Horizon Scorpions had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Jefferson by a score of 31-22 on Tuesday. The win was just what Horizon needed coming off of a 48-24 defeat in their prior match.
Leading Horizon to victory were Itzel Dean and Azul Rivera. Dean dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Rivera dropped a double-double on ten points and 23 rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her.
Horizon's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Jefferson, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Horizon will be home for the holidays to greet Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Del Valle is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
