Sheridan has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Clinton Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan will be strutting in after a victory while Clinton Central will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Sheridan was fully in charge, breezing past Faith Christian 86-53 at home.
Trent Decrane was on fire: he scored 30 points along with 6 assists. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Garner, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clinton Central pushed their score all the way to 63 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Madison-Grant on the road by a decisive 78-63 margin. Even though they lost, Clinton Central's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 52 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the defeat, Clinton Central had strong showings from Lane Davis, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Creed Mennen, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Davis scored a full 27% of Clinton Central's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Davison, who scored 10 points.
Even though they lost, Clinton Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison-Grant only pulled down four.
Sheridan now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clinton Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Sheridan have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 10 threes per game. It's a different story for Clinton Central, though, as they've been averaging only 4.7 per game. Given Sheridan's sizeable advantage in that area, Clinton Central will need to find a way to close that gap. Everything came up roses for Sheridan against Clinton Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 70-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sheridan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
