Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mid Valley

Mid Valley came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over the Lakeland Chiefs. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chiefs, too.

Mid Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakob Lesher, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Kaleik Cook, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Lakeland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Kutchmanich, who had eight points. That's the most points Kutchmanich has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Rosenkrans, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Mid Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Mid Valley and Valley View will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Valley View will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Mid Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakeland, they will challenge Carbondale Area at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Lakeland is facing Carbondale Area at the right time seeing as Carbondale Area is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
