Fruitdale is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Satsuma a 20-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Fruitdale Pirates will take on the Satsuma Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Fruitdale ended up a good deal behind Millry and lost 58-44. Fruitdale has struggled against Millry recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Deion Taylor, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and three steals. CJ Weaver was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Satsuma suffered their biggest defeat since December 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Jackson 68-27. While losing is never fun, Satsuma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while Jackson is ranked 61st).
Fruitdale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Satsuma, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.
Fruitdale didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Satsuma when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Will Fruitdale repeat their success, or does Satsuma have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
