Stanberry has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Rock Port Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Stanberry earned a 49-40 victory over Trenton.
Meanwhile, Rock Port put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Mound City as Rock Port made off with a 54-29 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rock Port.
Rock Port can attribute much of their success to Cade Makings, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Bannack Skillen, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Ozey Hurst was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Stanberry's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Rock Port, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Stanberry strolled past Rock Port in their previous meeting back in February of 2019 by a score of 48-32. Does Stanberry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rock Port turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
