Cocalico is 0-10 against Donegal since May of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 4:15 p.m.
On Friday, Cocalico came up short against Conrad Weiser and fell 8-3.
Sydney Leasure made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Ava Shenk, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Donegal, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Eastern Lebanon County on Wednesday as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Jordin Meyers made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nyah Gibbs, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Madison Coble was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Donegal has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Cocalico, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Cocalico might still be hurting after the 18-3 defeat they got from Donegal in their previous meeting on April 8th. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
