Julian dropped to 7-6 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Bonsall Legionnaires by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Legionnaires this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 back in March.

Hailey Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Izzy Cosson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Angel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
As for Bonsall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games.
On Bonsall's side, Maddison Trujillo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off 13 hits (and only one walk). Trujillo was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Morgan Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ulu Sauileone, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Coming up, Julian will venture away from home to challenge Borrego Springs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bonsall, they will welcome Liberty Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
