The Allegany Campers typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Southern Rams proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 61-57 victory over the Campers. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Wilt, who scored 24 points. Wilt is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Jared Haskiell was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with three steals.
The victory (which was Southern's third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Allegany, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern will challenge the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully the Rams like a good challenge. As for Allegany, they will head out on the road to take on the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berlin Brothersvalley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 80.2 points per game this season.
