The Larkin Royals will square off against the Schaumburg Saxons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Larkin is headed out to face Schaumburg after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Royals' pitchers stepped up to hand Harvest-Westminster a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Warrior-Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jiselle Aguinaga and Mackenzie Wemken made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Aguinaga tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wemken struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). At bat, Aguinaga got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Wemken got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Aguinaga has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ali Herrick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Yesenia Escobar was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
Schaumburg came out on top against Batavia on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Saxons took their game against the Bulldogs 7-2. Seven seems to be a good number for the Saxons as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Madison Linnemann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Evelyn Blahnik was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Dolecki, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Larkin might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Schaumburg when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Royals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
