NFL Yet Academy's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They secured a 67-62 W over St. John Paul II Catholic. The win was just what NFL Yet Academy needed coming off of a 67-33 loss in their prior matchup.
NFL Yet Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was EUDY LARA-CASTILLO out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LARA-CASTILLO has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of ABEL RUIZ, who scored 23 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Trivium Prep, who are still winless after their 16th matchup. They were beaten by Arizona Lutheran Academy 97-22 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Trivium Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Arizona Lutheran Academy is ranked 43rd).
NFL Yet Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Trivium Prep, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-16.
NFL Yet Academy suffered a grim 75-54 defeat to Trivium Prep in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can NFL Yet Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
