The Superior Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They fell just short of Duncan by a score of 45-42. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Superior in their matchups with Duncan: they've now lost nine in a row.
Duncan found their leader in underclassman Isiah Sumner, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Giacoletti, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Superior has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Duncan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-16.
Superior and Hayden will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Duncan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
