The Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers's game on Tuesday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 50-42 to Bolton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading Bolton to victory were Makenna Graves and Niya Islam. Graves dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Islam scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Islam has scored at least a third of Bolton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Diehl, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Sports & Medical Sciences Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Bolton, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Sports & Medical Sciences Academy and the Bulldogs will face off at 6:45 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stafford is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Bolton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Suffield will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
