Lanier is 0-3 against Shiloh since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lanier Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Shiloh Generals at 7:30 p.m. Lanier will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Lanier stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Jackson County as Lanier made off with a 31-7 win.
Lanier's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Preston Ratliff, who threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Dmajai Hightower also helped out with an impressive 115 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Shiloh fell victim to Gainesville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Red Elephants. While losing is never fun, Shiloh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Gainesville is ranked ninth).
Lanier's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Jackson County, Apalachee, and North Forsyth. As for Shiloh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Lanier has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 386.7 total yards per game. It's a different story for Shiloh, though, as they've been averaging only 200.9 per game. Will Lanier be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Shiloh flip the ?
