St. Joseph Academy extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Lola Scardelli. The Flashes put the hurt on the Father Lopez Green Wave with a sharp 55-33 win on Thursday with plenty of help from Scardelli, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 22 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Addison Maushart was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Maushart is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Father Lopez saw an underclassman step up: freshman Scotlyn Gill went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Skyla Thompson, who posted six points and seven steals.

St. Joseph Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Father Lopez, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

St. Joseph Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-16 win against Crescent City on the 11th. As for Father Lopez, they have also already played their next matchup, a 64-15 victory against Cocoa Beach on the 5th.
