The Astoria/VIT Rebels suffered their biggest defeat since November 22, 2023 on Saturday. They were outmatched by North Mac on the road and fell 49-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Astoria/VIT has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Astoria/VIT struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Astoria/VIT bumped their record down to 8-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for North Mac, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Astoria/VIT will head out on the road to challenge Rushville-Industry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rushville-Industry has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for North Mac, they will face off against Carlinville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Carlinville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.
