The North Platte Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Alliance Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
North Platte pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-58 to Lincoln Northeast. North Platte has not had much luck with Lincoln Northeast recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, North Platte got a solid performance out of Caden Joneson, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon O'brien, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Alliance kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 67-52 bruising from Gering.
The losses dropped North Platte to 0-2 and Lincoln Northeast to 1-1.
Everything came up roses for North Platte against Alliance in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 84-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Platte since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
