The Kennett Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Kennett's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Kennett gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Greenville on the road to the tune of 69-34. Given Kennett's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Greenville is ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Saxony Lutheran was able to grind out a solid win over Festus on Tuesday, taking the game 56-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Saxony Lutheran.
Saxony Lutheran got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rebecca Johnson out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Johnson hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Abigail Haley, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Kennett is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Saxony Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.
Kennett lost to Saxony Lutheran on the road by a decisive 56-39 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Kennett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
