After flying high against the Wells Leopards last Tuesday, the Wendover Wildcats came back down to earth. Wendover fell 34-25 to Tabiona on Friday. Wendover has struggled against Tabiona recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Wendover's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gaby Delgadillo, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks. Delgadillo hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Natalie Alvarez, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Wendover's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Tabiona, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Altamont the next time they take the court. Wendover will head out to face Altamont at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Tabiona will host them at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
