The Shawnee Wolves fell victim to the Piedmont Wildcats''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 55-0 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 31 points in the game before, Shawnee couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jamir Owens threw for 48 yards on six of 14 attempts. Deetrick Beavers was his top target, gaining 68 total yards.
Shawnee has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Piedmont, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee will take on Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Southeast comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Piedmont, they will be playing at home against Bishop McGuinness at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Bishop McGuinness is ranked 30th, while Piedmont is ranked 27th).
