Basketball Recap: Grain Valley Piles Up the Points Against Belton

Grain Valley won the last time they faced Belton and things went their way on Monday too. The Grain Valley Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Belton Pirates 67-37. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Addy Seyfert, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those 23 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Rust, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Grain Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

Grain Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Belton, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fort Osage the next time they take the court. Belton will host Fort Osage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Grain Valley will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
