Riverside's game  last Saturday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They walked away with  an   8-4  win over the Newport Grizzlies. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Izzy Cotner was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.  Lindsey Hudson-Wayne was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Cotner wasn't the only one working in the  hit department: Riverside  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newport only managed six  hits.

Riverside's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Newport, they dropped their record down to 2-2 with the  defeat, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Riverside has already played their next contest,  a  17-7  loss against Lakeside on the 29th. As for Newport, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  16-2  defeat against Northwest Christian School on the 29th.
