Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 19 to 6 on the offensive boards, a fact the Evergreen Cougars proved on Friday. They came out on top against Dakota Ridge by a score of 46-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Evergreen.
Addison McEvers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Tatum Buenning was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Despite the loss, Dakota Ridge still got an impressive performance from Maryn Talyat, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Talyat is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Galbreath, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Evergreen's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4. As for Dakota Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evergreen will take on Golden at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dakota Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conifer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Conifer has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
