4A/5A Southwest recap September 17, 2013
Durango scaled the state rankings by moving to 29 from 68 this week, the biggest jump in 4A/5A Southwest. The Demons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Piedra Vista 35-3.
Montrose added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Pueblo West, 23-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Indians.
Kameron Devincentis put up the best numbers in passing as Montrose topped the Cyclones. He finished with 4 completions for 45 yards. Devincentis' favorite target this week was Peter Shearer, who caught 3 passes for 28 yards.
AUSTIN LEWIS was the best wideout in the league this week as Grand Junction fell to Ralston Valley. LEWIS racked up 3 receptions for 47 yards.
LEWIS was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers lost to the Mustangs.
LEWIS was the best running back in 4A/5A Southwest this week. He ran for 190 yards on 23 carries as Grand Junction fell to Ralston Valley. TYLER HEINSMA also contributed to the rushing game with 123 yards on the ground.
Grand Junction Central lost to D'Evelyn 40-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
