This season hasn't been kind to the Loving Falcons, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a serious blow against Clayton on Friday, falling 72-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Loving has scored all season.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Khai Cooper-john,
Karyn Montoya, and
Jozette Lyon-smith posted two points each.
Brooklyn Rodriquez held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Loving's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Clayton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loving won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Springer at 11:00 a.m. on December 23rd. Springer presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Loving in New Mexico (Springer is ranked 42nd, while Loving is ranked 132nd). Clayton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mescalero Apache at 3:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Mescalero Apache is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
