The Nezperce Nighthawks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tri-Valley Titans at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-21, which was the final score in Nezperce's tilt against Kendrick on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nezperce has scored all season.
Tri-Valley suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Garden Valley, falling 62-33. While losing is never fun, Tri-Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Garden Valley is ranked 40th).
Nezperce's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Nezperce came up short against Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 57-45. Can Nezperce avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
