The opening round of the Wisconsin high school football playoffs is here and we are putting the spotlight on the biggest games.

Playoffs: Level 1 games to watch
No. 5 seed D.C. Everest (Schofield) (6-3) at No. 4 seed Brookfield East (7-2)Tickets via GoFanBrookfield East finished a three-way tie for first place in the Greater Metro Conference. Senior quarterback
Zeke Sawall has thrown for 1,063 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Spartans, with junior
Beau Evans having a team-high 367 yards receiving with five touchdowns. The backfield is led by senior
Max Matter, who has 509 yards and six touchdowns. D.C. Everest captured the outright Wisconsin Valley Conference title. Headlining the offense are seniors
Corbin Enzenroth and
Xavier Edwards (Division II Minnesota State commit). Enzenroth leads the team with 1,082 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns while Edwards has a team-high 516 yards receiving with seven scores.
No. 6 Appleton North (5-4) at No. 3 Bay Port (Green Bay) (7-2)Tickets via GoFan
Bay Port, last year's Division 1 state runner-up, took second in the FRCC North. Senior running back
Brady Moon has 172 carries for 1,481 yards and 21 touchdowns to go along with 21 catches for 263 yards and six more scores. Senior quarterback
Matt Stevens is completing over 70 percent of his passes for 1,396 yards and 16 touchdowns. Junior
Jackson Otradovec has pulled in in 24 receptions for 498 yards and five scores. Appleton North, which finished tied for third in the FVA, is led by senior quarterback
Grant Hardy, who has passed for 1,176 yards and seven touchdowns and run for 162 yards and eight more scores. The defense is led by senior
Ben Wenzel, a Wisconsin commit, who has 99 tackles (53 solo), five for a loss, with one sack.
No. 5 West Bend West (7-2) at No. 4 Slinger (7-2)Tickets via GoFan
North Shore foes meet in the Level 1 contest. Slinger defeated West Bend West 28-14 in the regular-season meeting. Senior running back
Kobe Hendricks has 180 carries for 1,564 yards and 20 touchdowns to go along with nine catches for 96 yards and three more scores. Slinger senior quarterback Jeffrey Ford has thrown for 916 yards and nine touchdowns. West Bend West's offense is highlighted by senior running back
Noah Reinhart, who has 198 carries for 1,343 yards and 12 touchdowns. Junior quarterback
Collin Grass has passed for 1,020 yards and six touchdowns, and has two rushing scores.
No. 6 Fox Valley Lutheran (Appleton) (6-3) at No. 3 Luxemburg-Casco (Luxemburg) (7-2)
Luxemburg-Casco, third-place finisher in the North Eastern Conference, is led by junior quarterback
Eli Derenne, who has completed 63 percent of his passes for 1,325 yards and 16 touchdowns, and has 63 carries for 261 yards and three more scores. Other top contributors include seniors
Brayden Loritz (534 yards rushing, 11 touchdowns) and
Mason Trimberger (609 yards receiving, 7 touchdowns). For Fox Valley Lutheran, which took third in the Bay Conference, senior quarterback
Gabriel Heiges has thrown for 1,296 yards and 22 touchdowns. He is second on the team with 377 yards rushing with seven more scores. His top target is junior
Jacoby Dobberstein, who has 39 receptions for 689 yards and nine touchdowns.
Tickets via GoFanSauk Prairie, tri-champion of the Badger Small, is led by senior quarterback
Cayden Hermsdorf, who has thrown for 1,102 yards and nine touchdowns. He is also the team's leading rusher with 620 yards and seven scores. Pewaukee, fifth place in the Classic Eight, gets into the playoffs in the first season of the WIAA using a new playoff formula, referred to as the Football Matrix by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association, despite a 2-5 conference record. Senior running back
Omar Cherrington headlines the roster for the Pirates. He has 179 carries for 903 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, sophomore linebacker
Bryson King has a team-best 81 tackles for Pewaukee.
No. 6 West Salem (7-2) at No. 3 Berlin (8-1)
Berlin earned a share of the South Central Conference championship. Senior quarterback
Carter Hess has thrown for 948 yards and 10 touchdowns, and run for 1,099 yards and 21 scores. Other top performers for the Indians are seniors
Jakob Martin (1,204 yards rushing, 22 touchdowns) and
Hayden Redington (720 yards receiving, 8 touchdowns). West Salem finished second in the Coulee Conference. Junior quarterback
Drew McConkey has 961 yards passing with 13 touchdowns and 376 yards rushing with eight more scores. The leading rusher is junior
Lucas Fry, who has 437 yards and 11 touchdowns.
No. 6 Platteville (5-4) at No. 3 Lodi (7-2) Watch Live NFHS Network Lodi took second place in the Capitol Conference. Seniors
Brody Ripp (493 yards, 3 touchdowns) and
Sawyer Baron (403 yards, 7 touchdowns) lead the rushing attack, while senior quarterback
Alex Breunig has thrown for 983 yards and 12 touchdowns. Fellow senior Kyle Kurt has hauled in six passes for 308 yards and five scores. Platteville, fourth in the SWC, is highlighted by junior quarterback
Brody Digman, who has completed over 73 percent of his passes for 1,634 yards and 17 touchdowns, and 888 yards rushing with 12 more scores. Other impact players for the Hillmen include running back
Tyler Sasse (1,099 yards, 18 touchdowns, 2 receiving scores) and wide receiver
Myron Reuter (644 yards, 9 touchdowns).
No. 5 Durand-Arkansaw (Durand) (6-3) at No. 4 River Valley (Spring Green) (6-3) Tickets via GoFanRiver Valley finished third in the SWC. Senior quarterback
Lucas Klein has thrown for 1,253 yards and 14 touchdowns, and compiled 153 yards rushing with four more scores. Fellow senior
Jordan Gauger has a team-best 464 yards receiving with seven touchdowns for the Blackhawks. Durand-Arkansaw, which finished fourth in the Cloverbelt, is led by senior quarterback
Brett Breidung and sophomore running back
Ian Havens. Breidung has passed for 1.058 yards and 10 touchdowns, and added three rushing scores. Havens leads the rushing attack with 700 yards and 10 touchdowns.
No. 5 Mineral Point (5-4) at No. 4 Fennimore (6-3)
The SWAL foes met last week with Mineral Point posting a 39-36 victory. Senior quarterback
Dawson Crubel has thrown for 1,241 yards and 13 touchdowns, and also has a pair of rushing scores for Fennimore, which tied for second in the league. Junior
Reece Kelley leads the ground game with 1,086 yards and 13 touchdowns, and has 13 catches for 123 yards and two more scores. Mineral Point (fourth in the SWAL) is headlined by sophomore quarterback
Liam Carey, who has passed for 1,498 yards and 14 touchdowns, and run for 294 yards and seven scores. Senior
Brett Bossert leads the receiving corps with 25 catches for 408 yards and four touchdowns, and also has a rushing score for the Pointers.
No. 5 Cashton (6-3) at No. 4 Brookwood (Ontario) (6-3)
Another conference rematch, this one in the Scenic Bluffs Conference. When the teams met in September, Brookwood topped Cashton 15-8 and they ended the year tied for second in the league. Senior running back
Jackson Cunitz leads Brookwood with 595 yards on 79 carries with six touchdowns. For Cashton, senior quarterback
Drew Butzler has thrown for 712 yards and seven touchdowns, and has 224 rushing yards with eight more scores. Junior running back
Jack Christensen has a team-best 781 yards on the ground with eight touchdowns.
