The Garden Plain Owls had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They skirted past Kingman 28-25. This was payback for Garden Plain, who suffered a 40-7 loss the last time these two teams met.
Gage Lee had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 279 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Lee was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
Garden Plain's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points per game. As for Kingman, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
Garden Plain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kingman will be playing at home against Halstead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
