Baseball Game Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. Flour Bluff Hornets

The Carroll Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Flour Bluff Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Carroll after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 9-4 to Alice. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eloy Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Daniel Flores was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Flour Bluff, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out King 3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Flour Bluff saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Flour Bluff pushed their record up to 8-10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Carroll came up short against Flour Bluff in their previous matchup back in March, falling 12-8. Can Carroll avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
