After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northside - Pinetown, the Tarboro Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech by a score of 37-29.
Tarboro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ajennah Mcneil, who scored 10 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mcneil has scored at least 25% of Tarboro's points. Another player making a difference was Aleya Whitfield, who scored 11 points.
Despite the defeat, Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech saw an underclassman step up: Claire Donohue scored 11 points.
The win got Tarboro back to even at 1-1. As for Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tarboro will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rocky Mount Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Mattamuskeet at 4:00 p.m. on December 4th.
