Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They took  a  7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Varela Vipers. The Eagles gained 57 more yards on the day, but it was the Vipers that made the best use of them.
Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Varela,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-3.
 Coming up, Southwest is taking a road trip to  challenge Doral Academy  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Varela, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coral Park  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
