Laney has won four straight games at home, while Topsail has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will welcome the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Laney 2, Topsail 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Laney's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Ashley. With that victory, the Buccaneers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Brileigh Mathews was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Sydney Short, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Laney hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ashley struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Topsail earned a 6-2 win over North Brunswick on Friday. Those six runs were actually the fewest the Pirates have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Madyson Turlington was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Trimble, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBI. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.
Laney's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Topsail, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-1.
Laney came out on top in a nail-biter against Topsail in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Buccaneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
