The Sage Hill Lightning will be playing at home against the Woodbridge Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sage Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Northwood scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Sage Hill still came out on top. Sage Hill walked away with a 68-60 victory over Northwood. The victory was just what Sage Hill needed coming off of a 79-59 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, even though University scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Woodbridge still came out on top. Woodbridge took down University 71-56. Given Woodbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while University is ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sage Hill pushed their record up to 10-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Woodbridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Sage Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodbridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 61-59. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Woodbridge's Ethan Fu, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Sage Hill to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
