The Telluride Miners entered their tilt with the Caprock Academy Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Telluride came out on top against Caprock Academy by a score of 47-39 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Telluride, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Telluride to victory were Grayson Berry and Will Metheny. Berry scored 12 points, while Metheny scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Metheny has scored all season. Townes Merritt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Caprock Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zach Jordan, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Jordan pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Holt, who scored 11 points.
Telluride's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. As for Caprock Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
