Basketball Game Preview: Bulloch Academy Gators vs. Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats

Bulloch Academy and Westminster Schools of Augusta are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Bulloch Academy Gators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Bulloch Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Pinewood Christian with a sharp 74-52 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bulloch Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akiryon Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Watkins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ike Hubbard, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Bulloch Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, everything went Westminster Schools of Augusta's way against Pinewood Christian on Saturday as Westminster Schools of Augusta made off with an 84-63 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Westminster Schools of Augusta has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Bulloch Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Bulloch Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Westminster Schools of Augusta when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 47-41 win. Will Bulloch Academy repeat their success, or does Westminster Schools of Augusta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
