Softball Recap: Trinity Presbyterian Beats Alabama Christian Academy for Their Third Straight Win

Trinity Presbyterian hadn't done well against Alabama Christian Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Marley Sharpless made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evie Knight, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Emory Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Trinity Presbyterian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Trinity Presbyterian now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Alabama Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.
