The Forestville Central Hornets will head out to square off against the Chautauqua Lake Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Forestville Central 3.2, Chautauqua Lake 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Forestville Central's win against Brocton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday. The two-run effort marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Brocton's batters probably weren't too happy with Megan Gruber, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Gruber.
On the hitting side, Forestville Central's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Valentine, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Valentine's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Chautauqua Lake waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Bears as they made off with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jillan Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Ryberg, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Chautauqua Lake's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Forestville Central, their record is now 11-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Forestville Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chautauqua Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
