The Palo Verde Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Catalina at home to the tune of 100-46. Given Palo Verde's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Trojans are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Rozzy Martin, who shot 4-for-8 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. He also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Tra'celle Porter was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Palo Verde has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Catalina, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
Palo Verde will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Tan Foothills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Catalina, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
