Brownfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Martinez, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alliey Coffey, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Brownfield's victory bumped their record up to 15-17. As for Muleshoe, they dropped their record down to 5-18 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Brownfield will challenge the Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Denver City is ranked 671st, while the Cubs are ranked 694th).
