Northfield put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They really took it to Hinkley for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-7 win at home. That looming 65-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Northfield yet this season.
Northfield found their leader in underclassman Madison Bethel, who scored 11 points along with eight steals. Bethel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Nelson, who scored four points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Denver West, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-24 loss to Manual on Saturday.
Northfield's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Denver West, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Northfield against Denver West in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-26 win. With Northfield ahead 45-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
