Softball Recap: San Jose Wins Going Away Against Yerba Buena

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, San Jose was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

San Jose has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Yerba Buena, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, San Jose will be playing at home against Gunderson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.92 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Yerba Buena, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on May 2.
