Bauxite has won six straight games at home, while Malvern has won six straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Miners will host the Leopards at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bauxite proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Atkins, sneaking past 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Miners have posted since April 14, 2025.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Malvern). They never let Mills University Studies get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Hattie Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kendall Watson and Alexis Jenkins did most of the damage at the plate: Watson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Jenkins went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Jenkins has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Addi White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Malvern's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Bauxite, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Bauxite couldn't quite finish off Malvern in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 10-8. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
