David Burgess Delivers Best Performance of Season
Sadly, David Burgess posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Dougherty over Cairo on Friday. Burgess threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 58 yards.

Cairo's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Duncan Jr will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Peach County on Friday.
